A bubble map made with Leaflet

Another bubble map visualization of page hit data provided by Fwd Compliance. This map is really just an alternative implementation of this one.

Interactions

Drag the slider to increase or decrease the number of cities displayed and reveal the cities beneath more clearly.
Hover over a bubble to display the name of the city and number of page hits.
Scroll or pinch to zoom in.
When zoomed in, drag to pan.
Viewing window is unrestricted, though zoom is somewhat restricted.

Number of cities

The key difference in this map is in the implementation. This map uses a Google Maps inspired interface to explore a map that is served up by Open Street Map, while the other map is custom built to render a map based on data. In addition, this map was built completely independently of Observable.

As described on the other bubble map page, there are a number of disadvantages of this map. Nonetheless, I thought that the familiarity of the interface made it worth exploring.
